12th June 1812 Napoleon invaded Russia

In 12th June 1812, Napoleon Bonaparte invaded Russia. He expected a short war, to punish Czar Alexander I for his misbehavior in leaving the Continental System. But he failed to conquer Russia for several reasons: faulty logistics, poor discipline, disease, and not the least, the weather. He took about 600,000 men and over 50,000 horses. Because of those reasons, over 10,000 horses and over 200,000 of his soldiers were dead. Without good preparing, finally he lost.
